New for this year, a Festival exclusively for PPS High School Students

The Pittsburgh Public Schools, in collaboration with the Duquesne University Mary Pappert School of Music, is pleased to host the 2019 All-City High School Festival and Side-by-Side on Friday, April 26th, 2019.

New for this year, we are partnering with the Duquesne University Music Education Department for a side-by-side experience.   These students will lead sectional and full ensemble rehearsals with the assistance of Duquesne University faculty, as well a Pittsburgh Public Schools music faculty.  This unique collaboration will provide our students with a meaningful, relevant, and memorable music making experience.

Students will receive the music for this day in advance, and will attend a full day rehearsal at Brashear on Friday, April 26, 2019, followed by a community concert.  Concert attire will be formal black. Female choir members will wear a PPS provided choir gown. You will be responsible for providing transportation home following the performance.  In order for our young musicians to be fully prepared, students are responsible for rehearsing the concert music prior to the festival.
